Strickland State Forest, Narara
This beautiful pocket of forest at the back of Narara is preserved as a conservation and recreation reserve. Facilities include the Banksia picnic area and a number of walking tracks.

Rumbalara Reserve lies immediately to the east of Gosford City Centre. The magnificent tree-covered slopes of the reserve are characteristic of the natural scenery encompassing Brisbane Water. The name "Rumbalara" is an Aboriginal word for "Rainbow" Rumbalara covers an area of 53ha including Katandra walking trails. The highest point is Mount Mouat which is about 160m above sea level. Rumbalara is home to many creatures. Blue-tongue lizards, tree snakes, brush-tailed possum and marsupial mice may be encountered as well as many species of bird life
