Locally

Lighthouse Beach

Lighthouse Beach offers excellent swimming and surfing conditions, and has been noted as one of the best surf beaches on the east coast. Wander along the beach.

During the week, or early in the morning you may be lucky enough to be the only person on the beach. At the end of your private rainforest, enjoy a commanding view over the beach and climb down onto the sand. Beach access via the "boardwalk" just 100m along the road.

The Lake beach

Swimming for younger children and those wanting quieter waters.

A Surf Life Saving Club patrols a section of the beach near the lake entrance at Lake Cathie during the summer school holidays.

Surfing

Surf Smart programs are run by the council at the local beaches. Details are usually published in the local paper.
